An initiative in development · Free by design

Ambition is everywhere.
Access isn't.

A volunteer-led idea to make MBA application guidance more accessible to people who have the drive to pursue business school—but not always the networks or resources to navigate the process.

Early-stage project. We're developing resources and a volunteer network; broad applicant services are not yet live.

01 / The problem worth solving

Talent shouldn't depend on who you know.

An MBA application can be overwhelming: choosing schools, understanding scholarships, telling your story, and finding someone who will give honest feedback. For applicants without a professional network or access to paid guidance, even the first step can feel out of reach.

Open MBA Path is being developed to help narrow that information gap, one useful resource and one genuine conversation at a time. It is independently conceived and is not affiliated with or endorsed by a university.

02 / What we're building

Practical help, at the moments
it matters most.

01 — FIND YOUR DIRECTION

Make sense of your options

Plain-language resources on school research, timelines, scholarships, and deciding where to apply.

02 — TELL YOUR STORY

Learn by doing

Thoughtful prompts and feedback frameworks for résumés, essays, and interview preparation—not ghostwritten applications.

03 — FIND YOUR PEOPLE

Connect with volunteers

A planned way for MBA students and alumni to share first-hand experience when they have capacity to help.

03 / Why this exists

Built from a journey that wasn't simple.

Founded as an independent project by Joshua Ayyasamy, an MBA applicant whose own multi-year application experience exposed how much good advice—and the absence of it—can matter.

From asking for guidance to offering it.

After navigating difficult choices, setbacks, and repeated application cycles, Joshua began offering free, individual support to four aspiring MBA applicants. Those early conversations prompted a larger question: could more applicants get a useful starting point without paying for admissions consulting?

Open MBA Path is the beginning of an answer. The website is an early prototype; resources, processes, and volunteer participation are still being developed.

“I can't make the journey effortless. But I can try to make sure fewer people have to navigate it alone.”

— Founder's guiding principle

04 / Be part of the beginning

Every open door starts somewhere.

We're developing the first set of resources and exploring how to responsibly match volunteers with applicants. If you want to share your experience or help shape the project, we'd love to hear from you. We cannot yet guarantee one-to-one support or response times.
